If you've ever hesitated to bring your electric vehicle on a beach getaway because of "range anxiety," that worry just disappeared. The Isle of Palms is now home to a brand-new Tesla Supercharger station, and it's the first of its kind in the entire state of South Carolina.

What Makes This Station Special

This isn't just another charging stop. According to the City of Isle of Palms, the station is designed to be "a convenient amenity for both residents and visitors traveling to the island in electric vehicles, supporting a wider range of transportation options."

Here's what you'll find:

  • Four Tesla V4 Supercharger stalls, delivering charging speeds up to 325 kW depending on your vehicle
  • Magic Dock technology, meaning both Tesla (NACS) and CCS (J1772) connectors are supported, so it's not just for Teslas. Virtually every EV sold in the U.S. can charge here, often without an adapter
  • One ADA-compliant stall with generous surrounding space
  • Eye-catching custom artwork wrapping all four stalls, created by Dominion Energy in partnership with LINGEO Signs, inspired by Isle of Palms imagery like palms, beach chairs, and surfboards

Notably, this is also South Carolina's first "Tesla Supercharger for Business" site, meaning Dominion Energy, the local utility, actually owns the property and infrastructure.

Where to Find It

The station sits in a prime, easy-to-reach spot: right next to the Sea Island Shopping Center, home to Harris Teeter, The Refuge, Long Island Café, and the Co-op (of frosé fame). It's tucked behind Island Liquors, right along the IOP Connector. You can actually spot it as you drive on or off the island.
