Fall is arguably the best time to visit Charleston. The suffocating summer humidity finally breaks, the crowds thin out just enough, and the city's events calendar roars back to life after a quieter summer. As Charming Inns notes in their Fall Events Guide, autumn brings "cooler weather and a variety of events, festivals, and celebrations" across all three months. September: Summer's Last Hurrah Meets Festival Season
